We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Inspiration means that God the Holy Spirit gave the original writers the very words the wrote, while using their individual vocabularies and styles. As such, the Bible is truthful in all of its parts, and therefore the only reliable source for doctrine and life. John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:15-16; 2 Corinthians 13:14.
We believe that God is Triune. In the Bible God reveals Himself as three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each Person is coequal in power, majesty, and wisdom. The Father is God. The Son is God. The Holy Spirit is God. Yet, there are not three Gods but one Triune God. Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14.
We believe that God created the entire universe and everything in it, including Man, in six 24-hour days. Man, who was created in the image of God, lost his perfection, righteousness, and relationship with God through the fall into sin. Genesis 1:1; Hebrews 11:3; Colossians 1:16.
We believe that all human beings are born sinful by nature, spiritually dead and separated from God. As such, they cannot save themselves by good works or contribute in any way to their salvation. Good works are the result of being saved, not the cause of being saved. Psalm 14:3; Ecclesiastes 7:20; 1 John 1:8; Psalm 51:5.
We believe that Jesus Christ, true God from eternity, also became true Man. He suffered and died on the cross to atone for the sins of the world. On the third day after His crucifixion, He rose bodily from the dead. John 1:1; Colossians 2:9; Romans 9:5; Galatians 4:4-5; Hebrews 2:14.
We believe that salvation is a gift of God’s grace, and is received through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Faith is created and strengthened by the Holy Spirit, who works through the Word of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21; John 1:29; 1 Peter 2:24; Hebrews 2:14-15; 2 Timothy 1:10; 1 John 1:7; Isaiah 53:4-5; 1 Timothy 1:15; John 3:16; Romans 10:17.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Savior, and tha apart from Him there is no salvation. John 3:16; 14:6; Acts 4:12.
We believe that Jesus Christ will return at the end of time to judge the living and the dead. Those who embraced Jesus through faith will live with Him forever. Those who rejected Him will suffer eternal punishment. Acts 1:11; Revelation 1:7; Matthew 25:31; 2 Corinthians 5:10.
We believe that wherever the Gospel of Christ is preached, the Holy Spirit creates believers. However, Scripture also clearly teaches that the basis for outward fellowship is oneness of confession and practice. Romans 16:17-18; 1 Corinthians 1:10.
